Eastern Sierra Fall

September 29 - October 4, 2024

Photographing the Eastern Sierra in always amazing, but in fall it comes alive with color and amazing alpenglow. I first moved to California the day I graduated from college to climb and adventure in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. As a climber quickly I fell in love with the mountains and lifestyle of the "Eastside". As I transitioned from climbing toward photography I came to realize that the "Eastside" may have the best combination of fall color, mountains, and light in the country. There is a reason John Muir called it the "range of light".

Come join me for five full days photographing the best locations of the Eastern Sierra at peak fall color. We will visit locations like Mono Lake, Lee Vining Canyon, Bishop Creek, North Lake, Alabama Hills and several of my favorite lesser known spots at peak fall color.

The cost of the workshop is $2975 and includes five nights of single accommodations, all field instruction, and image review sessions. As with all of my trips the workshop will be limited to 6 photographers so every photographer has lots of personal attention and has plenty of time for questions.

Often I see cheaper workshops in the field with groups of as many as 14 photographers with a single instructor. While my workshops might be slightly more expensive, as a former credentialed teacher with 17 years of classroom experience I know the value of small group instruction. Photographers will get far more from a small group experience than a large one. You will come home with better images and most importantly having learning far more.

Meals and transportation are not included, but we often eat meals together and participants often carpool.
