2020 Yosemite Workshop

March 5-8, 2020

This coming winter I'll be offering one session of my popular Yosemite Valley workshop. Come spend 3 days photographing the beauty of Yosemite without the crowds or hassles of peak season. From a photographic standpoint, March is my favorite time to be in the valley as we often get winter storms with great clouds and fresh snow. The waterfalls are flowing, the crowds are gone, and there is no more magical a place then Yosemite Valley after a snowstorm.

The workshop will meet at our hotel on the night of Thursday, March 5, 2020 for a welcome slideshow. This will allow people to drive to the park after work or shoot the sunset in the valley prior to the workshop. We will then spend Friday, Saturday, and half of Sunday photographing classic views of Yosemite Valley as well as lesser known locations that will offer depth to your portfolio.

After shooting sunrise and morning light each day we will take a mid-day break to eat and do image review sessions at the lodge. Depending on group motivation we will also do evening image review sessions after dinner.

As with all my workshops, this is a small group trip with no more than 6 total photographers, which allows time for me to work with everyone individually. All too often I see groups with 12-15 photographers and one leader where no one is really having a chance to learn from the instructor. My workshops are priced at a premium due to smaller numbers, because as a professional educator, I want to give you lots of individual instruction and direct feedback.

The trip costs $1675 per person and includes single room accommodations. Meals are not included, but we tend to eat as a group because it is fun and lots of casual learning takes place during meals.
